The Old West Theme Park

Own a part of the old west...
The Old West Theme Park at the Criswell will be a park like no other. The park is situated in the heart of The Criswell Ranch, a real working ranch in the Western Mountains of New Mexico. George Criswell ran cattle here from 1928 until about 1970. Then the bank took possession and the land was sold in forty acre pieces.

Susan Young and her husband, Glenn, took ownership of one of the forty-acre parcels. They traveled out here from Louisiana on visits, but were not able to build their retirement home here. When Susan died from cancer in 2003, Glenn offered the land for a park. He wanted others to share the land that he could not share with his bride of many years.

The plans to build the park are taking shape. It will be a theme park. The theme will be the old west ranch and town. There will be line cabins like the old time cowboys used when they were riding fence. This was Indian country so there will be an Indian camp. And there should also be some teeter-totters and hand pushed merry-go-rounds. The community center will be a replica of an old ranch house and will be available for parties and weddings and other social activities to share holders of the park. The park will house a Community Center for the Criswell Ranch Area. If you own land in the area and have not yet visited it, this is an excellent place to set up camp while you find your land.

For a one-time contribution of $25.00, you will receive title to a share of the Old West Theme Park at the Criswell. Proceeds from shares will be used to construct the park. Your share of the Park is your foothold to the rangeland of the Old West. It will be recorded in the park records and you can deed it to your heirs.

Your share allows you to use the surrounding 15,000 acres for camping, hunting, exploring, off road travel, rock-climbing, horseback riding and many other lawful activities.

Use it to come visit and explore and camp and rock climb and hike and mineral search and take any other lawful use of this great big wide enchanting country. The park is planned to be just like the conditions of the old west. With dim lit rooms and no telephones. A perfect place to get away from the hectic pace of today.
